南北朝時代、吉野朝廷の北畠顕家（きたばたけあきいえ）に従えた大波氏代々の居城「大波城」跡に広がるひまわり畑。「大波ひまわりそだって会」が育てるひまわりが、お盆の時期に国道115号線を彩る。

This field of sunflowers spreads over the ruins of Onami Castle which belonged to Kitabatake Akiie who was part of the Southern Court during the Nanbokucho Period (1336-1392). These sunflowers are grown by Onami Sunfl ower Growers Association and they bring color to Route 115 during the Obon period.
